Our Story

For over 36 years, Datascope has maintained the highest standards in customer service. Our attention to detail, quick response, and ability to adapt to the needs of our customers has won us a wide range of loyal clients — a list which continues to evolve along with our company.

Founded in 1981 in Cleveland, Ohio, Datascope initially focused on managing databases for local nonprofit organizations. Datascope's initial project involved a custom database to provide fundraising and audience development services for a regional theatre. Datascope soon managed similar databases for other nonprofit organizations. Datascope also provided merge/purge and data analysis services for customers who chose to maintain their data in-house.

In 1984, Datascope expanded into the publishing sector when it was hired by a local publication to create a circulation management database. Additional publishing clients followed as Datascope developed expertise in both paid and controlled circulation, and BPA circulation verification audits.

Several local advertising agencies joined Datascope's client list in the 1990s. Having expanded services, Datascope could now provide survey processing (both data entry and analysis), expanded merge/purge capabilities, and improved mailing list clean-up and standardization to meet USPS requirements for postal discounts.

In 1996, Datascope developed a system to handle gift processing for a local nonprofit organization and also created a bridge to the client's in-house system. Newly created entry, import, and export programs allowed data to pass freely between Datascope's proprietary entry program and the client's in-house database.

Datascope has provided custom database applications that run under Microsoft Access since 2003. These popular applications are now being applied to circulation management, membership management, corporate contact management, call center data capture and reporting, and project management.

Datascope is currently creating its own fundraising application, PDQ!™. Prospect Donor Quest will include donor and prospect tracking, gift and pledge processing, membership and events management, and standard and customized reporting.
